Betty OliveroBetty Olivero – World Premiere

Israeli composer Betty Olivero will appear at the first of three Bay Area concerts, featuring the world premiere of her new composition. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the NY Philharmonic, the BBC Symphony, and the Israel Philharmonic have all performed her compositions, many of which draw upon Jewish musical traditions.

Yefim BronfmanYefim Bronfman

Pianist Yefim Bronfman claims Israel as his home since making Aliyah from the Soviet Union, and has played and recorded extensively with Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He will be playing a recital in Berkeley, and later during the year will return to the Bay Area for a series of concerts with the SF Symphony and visiting conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen.

Gila GoldsteinGila Goldstein

Israeli pianist Gila Goldstein has performed both as a solo artist and a collaborative pianist throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Israel. In 2001 she released her first solo CD, Piano Works by Paul Ben-Haim, which included four previously unrecorded compositions of Ben-Haim's.
