COEXISTENCE: A travelling art
show The Israel Center is proud to present Coexistence,
an exhibition of posters from The Museum on the Seam. In order
to spread a message of tolerance, diversity and coexistence beyond the walls of
the museum, curator Raphie Etgar conceived the idea of an international design
competition. He turned to some 200 artists across the world, asking them to submit
graphic presentations on the subject of coexistence. A panel of judges chose 26
of the best designs. The images have traveled to many cities on several
continents, including Belfast, Sarajevo, Nicosia, New York, Cape Town, Berlin,
Prague, Paris, Florence, and London. In each town a local competition is held,
with the winning entry is added to the collection; thus the exhibit expands as
it makes its way around the world. We are pleased to offer this exhibition
to the Hillels & schools for an extended period of time. Learn
more and see images from the exhibition. |

destruction and collapse have become the ground for growth and invention. Wednesday,

Country (Ha'aretz Shelanu)
This exhibition by critically acclaimed
photojournalist Alex Levac brings together a collection of photographs with a
unique take on modern daily life in Israel. The photographs, published in the
Israeli daily newspaper Ha'aretz over the past decade, combine both
documentary and impressionist techniques to unveil deep insights in daily events.
Critics acclaim Levac's photographs for their humor, good mood and empathy for
his compatriots in moments where they are spontaneously involved in small, unexpected
everyday events. The Consulate General of Israel will tour the exhibition
around the Pacific Northwest over the next few months, and is also offering an
accompanying educational activity. If you are interested in hosting the exhibition

| Horizons
An exhibit of aerial photography by Duby Tal. This collection of photographs of
aerial landscapes of Israel provides a unique way to experience the varied texture
of Israel today. The images are as diverse as the country they celebrate: from
the stone contours of Jerusalem's holy sites to the surprising liveliness of the
desert; from the excavated earth where Israel's past is being revealed and studied
to the changing urban landscape. Together, these photographs attempt to recreate
the wide spectrum of places, sights and experiences of Israel. Info
