Synopsis: GOLDA'S
BALCONY is a portrait of the indomitable Meir,
the Milwaukee schoolteacher who became Prime Minister
of Israel in 1969. From the pogroms of Russia
to the halls of the Knesset, Meir's life-and the
play-encapsulates the dramatic story of the birth
of Israel in the wake of the Holocaust and its
subsequent, seemingly endless struggle for peace
for much of the 20th Century. The show's message
of humanity's yearning for peace continues to
strike a resonant chord with respect to today's
conflicts in the Middle East. The text, design
and direction of GOLDA'S BALCONY remains unchanged
from the Broadway production where it holds the
record for the longest running one-woman play.
Rave Reviews:
"Tovah Feldshuh gives such a fiercely
committed performance that she does more than
resurrect Meir: she embodies an entire country."
- New York Times
"Tovah Feldshuh's marvelous, skillful
portrayal if the indomitable Golda Meir will remain
in your mind long after the curtain has come down."

Somewhere
in Between
Written by Ronny Almog, Israeli Trans
playwright, and performed by the original cast,
Somewhere in Between was first performed in Tel
Aviv for the 2003 Israeli Pride. The play asks
questions regarding gender and sexual identity,
religious belief, political orientation and the
individual in society. A young woman can't reconcile
her outer feminine looks - and society's reaction
to them - with her inner feelings. Telling the
story through a series of scenes, poems, dialogues
and monologues, the play doesn't answer all the
questions it poses, instead hoping to stimulate
reflection on the part of the audience. Sponsored
by the Israel Center.
