About Israel in the Gardens Israel in the Gardens 2003

Hebrew

For over 30 years, the San Francisco Jewish community has celebrated Israel's Independence Day. This day expresses our connection with Israel, our solidarity with its people, and the central role Israel plays in our Jewish identity. It is also a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and showcase our achievements.

Israel in the Gardens 2003

This event, which takes place this year on Sunday June 5, 2005 in San Francisco, attracts attendees from all over the Bay Area, including the North Bay, East Bay, Peninsula, San Jose, and Sacramento areas. This is a day that attracts long-time Jewish Bay Area residents as well as newer arrivals from Israel, the former Soviet Union, and other countries. It is a day for people of all ages - adults, children, teens, college students, young adults and seniors. In recent years this event has become the single largest annual gathering of Jews in the Bay Area, last year attracting 5,000 families and approximately 13,000 people.

Israel in the Gardens 2003This year, Israel in the Gardens will return to Yerba Buena Gardens in the heart of San Francisco, near the convention center, the Metreon, Zeum, SFMOMA and Union Square.

The key to the success of the day is the maximum participation of members of the community, local Jewish organizations and synagogues.
